Now on its third year, Mountain Sounds Festival is set to be the biggest yet! Following a sell-out event with the likes of world-class acts Alison Wonderland, Touch Sensitive, Tkay Maidza and SAFIA (to name a few) on the line up, rural romp Mountain Sounds Festival on Saturday, 20 February should be wiped clear in your calendar.
Returning to the stunning surrounds of Mount Penang Parklands in Kariong, NSW, the festival is situated halfway between Sydney and Newcastle. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to take in the natural beauty and cultural delights of the Central Coast as well as a chance to sleep under the glowing stars, with the option to camp on Friday and Saturday night. Campsites will once again be heaving with silent discos and curated parties as the festival expands into five stages (including a new ‘secret’ area), clad with markets, pop-up bars, live art and installations.
The previous two years have featured a hefty handful of Australia’s music elite, including the likes of Sticky Fingers, Ball Park Music, The Kite String Tangle and many more. The 2016 line-up will undoubtedly follow suit, with some of the most diverse acts in the country in line to play. Stay tuned for the first line-up announcement, set to drop late October.
Mountain Sounds is a proudly local, environmentally sustainable event, priding itself on providing a platform to support local artists, business and the wider community. Having grown up locally, event organisers are passionate about the local area and will be taking care to prevent negative environmental impact and reducing the carbon footprint.
Says festival organisers Adam Masters and Clayton Parker “We’re noticing that more and more people are coming to the festival regardless of who’s playing which is exciting! The festival in 2016 will be our third year of operation and even after selling out this year, we will be stepping up in all aspects with new experiences whilst maintaining our core values and objectives. Expect weirder…”
The 2016 line up features the live sounds of:
Albert Hammond Jr. (USA)
Art Vs Science
The Delta Riggs
I Know Leopard
Jack Beats (UK)
Nina Las Vegas
Man To Moon
The Moving Stills
The Sea Gypsies
The recently announced second round line up will be led by hectic electric duo Cut Snake, as well as:

Throwing down a smorgasbord of international and local talent, the Mountain Sounds Festival promises another year of vibrant festivities and unparalleled musical vitality.
