Aussie rock band Jet will be hitting the roads this May and June in celebration of the 15th anniversary of their debut album ‘Get Born’. The national tour kicks off at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre, then will make its way to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, University of Canberra Refectory and Brisbane’s The Tivoli Theatre. Metro City in Perth will be next stop, followed by a performance at the Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide. The tour will head back to Sydney, with the final pair of shows happening at The Forum Theatre.
‘Get Born’ was released in September 2003 under Elektra Records. The album received high praises from critics and even topped the ARIA Top 40 Charts. With massive hits like ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl?’, ‘Look What You’ve Done’, ‘Get Me Outta Here’ and ‘Cold Hard B*tch’, it went on to sell more than 6.5 million copies across the globe. Jet will be playing these songs, plus all the tracks from the album live, for the first time ever.
The band was quoted saying: “The idea of playing this album and celebrating 15 years since [we] began our journey is something that’s very special to us, and we can’t wait to get out there and see old friends again, and meet plenty of new ones as well.”
Jet formed in Melbourne in 2001 and took the airwaves by storm with their garage and hard rock releases. After a little over a decade, the band split up in 2012. They reformed in 2016 and supported Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on their 2017 tour. So far, they have six ARIA Awards their belt, on top of sold out shows, festival performances, several albums and hit singles. Jet are brothers Nic and Chris Cester along with Mark Wilson and Cameron Muncey.
