DMA’s Hills End Tour

Off the back of the release of their debut album Hills End (out on Feb 26 through I OH YOU), DMA’S are more than thrilled to announce the Australian leg of their worldwide Hills End Album Tour, kicking off in Brisbane, heading to Sunshine Coast, stopping by Adelaide, Perth and Sydney and finishing in Melbourne.

The band easily rose to prominence after the release of their debut single ‘Delete’ two years ago. After electrifying performances at CMJ 2014 in NYC, record labels have been on tug-of-war trying to get DMA’S but the band was snatched up by Mom+Pop (FIDLAR, Courtney Barnett, Flume) and Infectious (alt-J, The Temper Trap) — both are respected indie labels in North America and Europe respectively.

Being festival staples and in-demand support acts for artists like The Drums (in London) and TV On the Radio (in Chicago) plus blowing roofs with their own headline shows, DMA’S tear up stages with their guitar-driven pop tunes.

“Offering the goods to confirm the hype, DMA’s seriously impress with their winning hooks, which are capable of quickly luring new fans into the fold.” – The Music

“DMA’s represent togetherness in an age of dislocation, hence their day in the sunsheee-yiiine” – The Guardian

“DMA’s might be relatively new to the stage but they know how to grasp the place in their palms, and I left the bandroom feeling like I’d found new kin.” – Stack

In support of an EP and a 7” release, the Sydney boys have had their songs fill the airwaves.

With these accolades, it’s just right to say that DMA’s deserve the swooning fans, both home and abroad. Having just played their latest single ‘Too Soon’ at Laneway Festival, DMA’S surely can’t wait to serve their sizzlingly anticipated album, Hills End.

Part of the album was recorded in a studio in Coogee, Sydney, but “the most important” bits were completed in Took’s old flat at Buckland Lane.

“We didn’t have much engineering experience when we started, but it was all about the tunes”, Took explains nonchalantly. Mason adds: “I think there’s something kind of nice about co-producing your first record. It’s made it a really good representation of what the band are.” Meanwhile, Dave ‘Spike’ Stent mixed the record in London and LA last autumn.

Concurrently, the band released a video for ‘Too Soon’ which premiered via Stereogum last Thursday 11th Feb.
