As an internationally touring artist, chart-topping producer and founder of Firepower Records, there isn’t much left in the bass world that Datsik hasn’t conquered. With over 1.2 million Facebook likes and over 3 million Soundcloud followers, his social media stats are proof of an artist who is at the peak of his career – and when it comes to producing, Datsik is all about the brutal domination of fat bass-wobbles and filthy drops. Even taking on mainstream hip-hop and pop, he has remixed tracks from Coldplay, Lil Wayne, MGMT, Linkin Park and Wu-Tang Clan. For an example, check no further than his recent remix of Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” which left fans swooning, and received a whopping 3.56 million plays on Del Rey’s Soundcloud and 1.4 million on his own.
A true pioneer in his game, Datsik has toured worldwide over and played at the most revered stages. Now, he is finally set to make his return to Australia this February, performing in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne and Sydney.
In addition, he has an ever-growing list of collaborators within bass music and beyond, such as the mighty Excision, Flux Pavilion, Bassnectar, DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia, Infected Mushroom, Diplo and most recently, Snoop Dogg, with their massive track “Smoke Bomb”. It comes as no surprise then that Datsik has dominated charts all over the world – including Beatport, where he has secured over 10 #1 spots. Since Firepower’s inception in 2012, it has helped launch the careers of artists like Protohype, Must Die!, Terravita, Getter, and Fox Stevenson to name a few, as well as Datsik’s latest release and arguably best album Down 4 My Ninjas.
